About the Opportunity
The Driver Messenger: Inventory & Logistics role supports municipal logistics activities by ensuring that goods and documents are collected and delivered efficiently. The successful candidate will assist with operational processes while ensuring that council vehicles, fuel and resources are used responsibly.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 09 or relevant NQF Level 1 qualification.
- Code 8 driver’s licence.
- Valid PrDP driving permit.
- 1–2 years’ experience as a driver within a supply chain environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering and collecting mail and goods within the assigned area.
- Ensuring documents and goods are transported efficiently according to policies and procedures.
- Following operational processes related to inventory and logistics activities.
- Ensuring council vehicles are used correctly and not misused.
- Supporting responsible use of municipal resources, including fuel and maintenance processes.
- Providing good customer service and supporting departmental objectives.
