About the Opportunity
The Gardener position is responsible for providing basic horticultural and environmental maintenance services, including landscaping, plant care and upkeep of designated areas. The successful candidates will assist with maintaining attractive and safe outdoor environments according to instructions.
Requirements

- Six months’ relevant horticultural experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will assist with:
Garden and Landscape Maintenance
- Weeding of sites and surrounding areas.
- Planting and maintaining plants.
- Watering, pruning and dividing plants.
- Preparing soil for planting.
- Applying fertilisers and chemicals according to instructions.
- Applying water-wise gardening principles.
Landscaping Activities
- Assisting with hard landscaping projects, including:
- Stepping stones.
- Gabions.
- Stone packing.
- Erecting poles.
- Water features.
- Retaining walls.
- Cement mixing.
Stock and Equipment Management
- Loading and unloading materials.
- Packing and stacking items.
- Counting stock.
- Monitoring assets for damage or theft.
- Assisting with asset management.
Plant Care and Identification
- Applying basic plant identification.
- Identifying weeds and alien plants.
- Differentiating between indigenous and exotic plants.
- Assisting with floral displays and decorations.
Safety Responsibilities
- Attending SHE representative meetings.
- Following basic safety procedures.
- Maintaining a safe working environment.
