Job Purpose
The Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting company goods safely and efficiently, ensuring products are delivered and collected according to scheduled routes while maintaining excellent service standards and compliance with company policies.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence with PDP/PrDP
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills
- Proven experience driving heavy-load trucks
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to health, safety, quality and food safety standards
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering and collecting products safely and on time according to scheduled routes.
- Providing professional service to internal and external customers.
- Monitoring and safeguarding company stock during deliveries and collections.
- Completing and managing delivery documentation, including purchase orders, dispatch notes, SCTs, invoices and vehicle logbooks.
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and ensuring the truck is clean and roadworthy.
- Complying with road traffic laws, company policies and transport regulations.
- Reporting vehicle problems, delivery delays, incidents and food safety concerns.
- Assisting with loading and offloading activities when required.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, food safety and quality.
- Supporting the company’s food safety objectives in line with FSSC 22000 requirements.
- Ensuring punctual deliveries and reporting any delays promptly.
Skills and Competencies

- Knowledge of road traffic regulations and vehicle compliance requirements.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to plan routes effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safe driving practices.
