Wildland Fire-Fighting Opportunity
NCC Group is hiring 50 Fire Fighters to join wildland fire-fighting teams across various operational bases in the Western Cape. The role involves fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency response and protecting communities, infrastructure and natural areas.

Requirements
- Must have no criminal record
- Must pass a Physical Fitness Assessment
- Must pass an Occupational Health Practitioner Evaluation
- Must be available for shift work and standby duties
- Must comply with the NCC Group Alcohol, Drug and Substance Use Policy
- Strong teamwork and observation skills required
Main Duties
- Participate in wildland fire suppression activities
- Conduct direct and indirect fire attacks when required
- Perform mop-up operations after fires
- Monitor fire areas and maintain observation duties
- Support emergency response activities
- Follow fire-fighting safety procedures
- Assist with fire prevention activities
- Clear invasive vegetation and reduce fire risks
- Support vegetation management activities
- Assist with public fire education initiatives
- Operate and maintain fire-fighting equipment
- Inspect, clean and store equipment correctly
Physical Fitness Requirement
Candidates must complete a fitness assessment:
- Distance: 4.8 km
- Pack weight: 20 kg
- Required time: Under 45 minutes
