Job Purpose
The Maintenance Attendant is responsible for supporting facility operations by ensuring buildings, outdoor areas and equipment remain clean, safe and well-maintained.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment and products
- Health and safety knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Maintenance or facilities experience will be advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and sanitising duties in offices, restrooms, common areas and designated spaces
- Manage waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Restock cleaning supplies and facility necessities
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs and replacing light bulbs
- Inspect facilities for safety hazards and security concerns
- Assist with event setup and breakdown activities
- Perform groundskeeping and outdoor maintenance duties
- Assist visitors and provide directions when required
- Maintain records of cleaning activities, supplies and equipment inspections
- Follow health, safety and environmental procedures
- Work with facilities teams to maintain high standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
