About the Opportunity
The General Worker position supports daily manufacturing operations by assisting with physical labour, product handling, cleaning activities and workplace safety procedures. The successful candidate will help ensure products are handled correctly while maintaining a clean and safe production environment.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- Ability and willingness to work shifts.
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required.
- Must be medically and physically fit.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with:
Production and Stock Handling
- Performing physical labour tasks, including lifting, carrying and moving loads up to 25kg.
- Stacking and palletising finished products.
- Handling materials and products according to workplace procedures.
- Inspecting materials and products for defects.
- Completing quality check documents when required.
Cleaning and Housekeeping
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Performing general cleaning duties.
- Ensuring work areas remain organised.
Safety and Food Quality
- Following safety procedures and workplace protocols.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identifying and reporting potential safety risks.
- Supporting the closure of safety observations.
- Following food safety policies and procedures.
