Hospital Laundry Operations Opportunity
The Department of Health is hiring 10 Operator Level 3 positions at Chris Hani Baragwanath Laundry. The role involves operating industrial laundry equipment, handling linen, monitoring machines and supporting daily hospital laundry operations. Candidates with Grade 11, NQF Level 3 or equivalent qualifications can apply.

Requirements
- NQF Level 3 or Grade 11 qualification
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Knowledge of laundry industrial machine operations
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform routine tasks
- Ability to plan and organise work
- Willingness to wear protective clothing as required
Main Duties
- Check water levels, air pressure and steam supply before operating tunnel machines
- Clean tumble dryers and surrounding areas
- Load and monitor conveyor belts
- Load soiled linen into machines
- Maintain loading scales
- Monitor clean linen from dryers and move it to the next work area
- Assist with unblocking tunnel washers
- Monitor pumps and detergent supply systems
- Complete work orders
- Report machine faults, disturbances and malfunctions
- Take responsibility for allocated resources
