Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification / ABET Level 4
- Ability to read and write
- 0–2 years’ cleaning experience in a health facility/environment will be advantageous
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work productively
- Ability to work shifts and under pressure
- Ability to work as part of a team
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean designated areas including windows, walls, basins, lockers, kitchens and bathrooms
- Sweep, mop and polish floors and other assigned areas
- Perform routine general cleaning services
- Open windows daily for hygiene and infection control purposes
- Perform damp and dry dusting
- Empty dustbins in designated areas
- Maintain toilet cleaning checklists according to hygiene standards
- Replace toilet paper, towels and hand soap when required
- Remove and store waste in designated areas
- Report safety hazards within the environment
- Perform routine maintenance services
- Clean and store cleaning equipment properly
- Safeguard cleaning materials and equipment
- Report electrical or mechanical faults on cleaning machines and equipment
