The Gauteng Department of Health is recruiting an Administration Clerk: DHIS Level 5 to provide administrative and health information management support at Heidelberg Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing and verifying healthcare data, maintaining health information databases, preparing reports, following up on data submissions and supporting the accurate and timely management of health information.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate or NQF Level 4
- Computer literacy
- Experience or a certificate in a hospital data management system will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture data on DHIS, PPIPV3 and ChildPIPV3 databases.
- Update institutional Health Information Management databases.
- Conduct rapid data quality assessments before capturing information.
- Identify and follow up on discrepancies with relevant service providers.
- Compile and submit routine reports.
- Organise and conduct monthly hospital data interrogation meetings.
- Complete weekly summary forms for monthly reporting.
- Assist with the timely preparation and submission of required reports.
- Source information from both electronic and manual systems.
- Ensure data is received regularly and follow up on outstanding submissions.
- Ensure primary data sources are available and ready for auditing.
- Escalate poor-quality data challenges to the supervisor.
- Assist with Performance Management and Development System requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling health information.
- Apply Batho Pele Principles.
- Perform other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor that relate to the position.
Knowledge and Skills
Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. The position requires someone who is self-motivated, organised and able to manage tasks of a multidisciplinary nature.

- National Health Programme strategies and processes
- Health information management
- Data elements and indicators
- Relevant health information regulations and legislation
- Data quality assessment and verification
